My AF2 spear is already a crapy Crit/SkS combo. Even a Set/SkS combo would be preferable. And if it's Der/Crit like my Longenous Zeta was then I'll have ZERO reason to go to Alexander Savage or to run Thorden EX past the 1st clear.

That's exactly the purpose Thordan EX weapons will serve, weapons for alts. When Esoteric weapons were introduced people were still running Ravana Extreme for quite a long time due to gear up their alts, add another option and for that and Thordan EX will be dead before it's had time to even stay a little, similar to Bismarck EX. Besides, I fail to see a reason why an alt class would require i210. You're also failing to see that each upgrade for the relic weapon is a far larger grind than most other weapons, thus invalidating the claim that the weapon has a lot of longevity. It would be similar to claiming that the Law weapon had a lot of longevity due to the Esoteric weapon, they're both tomestone weapons, right? The only difference with the Anima is that you have to give up your older weapon.
I'm not missing that. I'm saying that the relic weapon will be the greater weapon of the 3 and the other two will be irrelevant. I already understand what you guys are saying. But the relic weapon will make the previous weapons obsolete. That's how it always is.
I already said that the other players that don't want to do the grind will be using the other 210 options available. I'm full aware of the necessity of grinding the quests. Hence my posts talking about how the players who grinded the weapon will have the best weapons and the other ones will be irrelevant.
No. That is the purpose that Thordan weapons serve right now. And sure, for players who have undesirable stats on their eso weapon, they may just skip the upgraded eso weapon and use the thordan weapon. But that will be a small percentage considering the soon to be BiS relic weapon.
Also, there are plenty of players who gear their alt jobs to be the best that they could possibly be. If you can upgrade your alt's weapon, why wouldn't you? That's a bit of ridiculous reasoning on your part. There are players who have alts with 210 weapons on all of them right now. If they need to go into savage with a different party makeup they can.
And I am not failing to see that the relic weapon is a grind. But to say that it is a larger grind than all other weapons is also foolish. Why don't you go clear alexander savage 4 eight times for your weapon and tell me how long that took you to grind it out. Then do your relic and let's see what you have first. The relic grind will be much shorter, I assure you. And just because you have to grind it doesn't mean that it doesn't have longevity. That's exactly why it will have longevity. The relic weapon will drop in a couple weeks and you will do the grind. And through the next several patch cycles if you keep up on it, you will still be using your relic weapon. That is literally the meaning of longevity.
