Yes, there has ever been a point in Final Fantasy XIV where I feared a single enemy in this game, ever. Seriously, man? This time never existed. I knew friends that wanted a drake mount as soon as they encountered the enemies in 2.0 vanilla.

They're making tortoise able to fly, who cares anymore about realistic flying mounts, it doesn't matter if it's a tiger, a bear or a lamp anymore.

Also OMG I always wanted a lamp mount ; ; Tiny table tamp with a Roe sitting uncomfortably atop it, clutching its shade for dear life as he blazes though air.

And that's one of the reasons why FFXIV is a pretty weak Final Fantasy title
Remember in FF games you'd dread random encounters or enemies targetting you? Well not in FFXIV, enemies may as well not even exist.
The excuse "it's an MMO" doesn't work either. It's a numbered Final Fantasy title, it will be judged like a numbered Final Fantasy title.
Also, XI's enemies are still dangerous.

What's XIV's excuse?
