Wada is accustomed to not only messing up but running this game specifically into the ground. I wish Wada would grow some ***** and realize HE is the problem.
I agree with OP. I have a feeling people who are wanting to check out new stuff will be rather hesitant for many reasons already stated. I will pay and play...I don't mind personally. Who knows..maybe if hardly anyone is still playing after they put billing back perhaps they will make it free again but who knows >.>;
Another concern of mine is the population might be so low I'll get bored I guess we'll just have to wait and see :O
Excellent, another thread about having to pay soon. Really, does it just make people feel special to have their own thread or something?
exactly it's their fault.
i know in construction we have what we call hard dollar jobs. this means we place a bid for both the amount of money and the completion date. we must get the job completed on the day we are scheduled to complete it on. if we don't get it done by then the company we are doing the work for actually bills us for each day we are late and we still have to cover our costs until the job is done. we either complete the job without an extra fee for the business or lose alot of money in the process.
square enix did not complete the job and now they are eating their losses. i'm not funding their incompetence.
I won't consider paying until after 2.0. So far, it seems like yoshi-p's team is just doing sidegrades. The game is still fairly wretched, it simply sucks in different ways now.
like 2 dungeons were added, but leves were destroyed. materia system is cool, but all my gear is being deleted. Thanks! You hose my jade hora +2 i bought the day before the item announcements and then tell me I get to pay you more REAL money for the pleasure.
I'm sorry but FUCK YOU SE
completely agree, its hard to say pay for our game now, but its pretty much going to be completely changes with new graphics, UI, world, classes, races...ect next year....thanks for paying for us to let you test shit.
It's a balance thing, imo. This project had to run out of money at some point. If my support now gets 2.0 here faster, so bet it. I want this game to succeed. I'm glad enough I got to take part in a year long beta and keep my progress.
Ungrateful people, these days, I tell you....
There will be another free period @ the 2.0 launch. That will be the best time for people to try it out.
So, from a new-player standpoint, it may actually be a good idea to start the billing now. To keep them from beating themselves over the head with a product that isn't completely ready for them.
Also, I welcome any activity that will help weed out more trolls on the forums :)
If every person were to have purchased a subscription that is currently playing on a "regular" basis, aka at least once every few days, there might be 25,000 subscribers, which would translate into about 3 million dollars only. The value of having a 25,000 person marketing team sounds a lot more appealing to me when you consider the major damage FFXIV did to Square's trust with game players.
I literally commented yesterday how there was no indication Square was rushing to get things done too soon, and now they did this. They have their release timeline great, even better than what I personally expected [June 2012, which is also when I thought subs would start], but now they've gone and inserted their foot directly into their mouth.
Also if Square Enix is relying on 3 million dollars for their company to run, then the company is teetering on insolvency, and is likely to fail either way. If that was the case they would not have FFXIV running at all. This isn't the case, so we're looking at another corporate misstep in the FFXIV saga of missteps and miscalculations.
While your sentiment is kind of strange, I think the bigger thing is that core systems are being implemented over content, because the content has always obviously been being for the new game. Most of the dungeons we have in the game are built of of per-existing assets that have been seen before, so that was just utilizing what was already in the game files.
We don't even have linkshell administration tools that function properly.
