in easy mode 3 aether current instead 4 in normal.
in easy mode DF timer is huge than normal, but ...
you may go in airship fc with just 2 ppl so for easy mode will be less hard get the currents and go gathering, also need less airship level.
For gathering items yes mostly are the same, i readed somewhere that are some few ones that are just on hard mode.
