Ifrit's Horn + Undersized Party; How does this work?

Thank you, have you noticed drop rate by chance? I know i've been at it for about 2 nights with about 10 or so runs and have seen nothing.

60+ mog ex runs at about 2 to 3 mins each has dropped 3 whiskers in total, drop rate appears to be unchanged

As mentioned in Patch 3.1 notes, we have made it so that specific extreme primal items that used to drop directly from the boss will appear in treasure boxes while using the undersized party option. The undersized party option cannot be used to obtain Ifrit's Horn as it is obtained from the "Hard" version of the fight, so you will need to complete the Bowl of Embers (Hard) in a non-undersized party. This adjustment was put in place to make it easier to obtain items such as Kingly Whisker, which was highly requested.

Um, not that its hard, but doesn't that defeat the purpose?

May I ask, what purpose is this change defeating? The Extreme Primal items are the valuable one, while the hard mode items are fairly easy to come by, this adjustment has made it easier for us to obtain the extreme mode items and I think that was the purpose.

Never mind, there probably is a second version of the horn in ex.

I was going to confirm that at least the kingly whisker does drop in undersized.. But Zhexos' post is kinda confusing..

If you do a ex primal the normal way, not undersized, the items do not drop in a chest but the way they used to? And since items don't drop in undersized, and they didn't implement putting it in the chest for the hard modes, then it would literally be impossible to obtain it from undersized hard mode?

Just sounds kinda confusing lol

Basically to simplify the post.

Extreme Undersized - Chest
Extreme Normal - Normal random drop it seems as its only in the chest for undersized
Hardmode Undersized - 0% chance of ifrit horn

Now granted if Extreme Normal still had it drop from Ifrit + in chest. I can see some groups farming in normal for the chance at double drop...

I guess the items from EX just turned into a chest item, so it doesn't really matter if undersized or not. So no double drop, that wouldn't make much sense to me.
Or did I missed something? Meh, just re-read the post from Zhexos. Just sounds like undersized parties get the chest. But that's weird, why not turn the item into a chest item altogether? (at least for EX)
