Ideas for Paladin Skill Changes

Completely out of touch with end game tanking and the issues associated with it. Except the Divine Veil and Royal Authority changes, those I can get behind.

What you want to see is
A) DPS increase
A.2) Enmity increase
B)Utility better utilized, which your DV/RA choices do address.

The Paladin has a lower amount of both enmity gen (due to modifiers) and dps (mostly due to having to spam RoH), which can be fixed by either adding more enmity potency to Shield Oath (low modifier than Grit/Defiance) or a waaaaaaaay bigger modifier on RoH.

Sword Oath at 30% crit would........make it better than the warrior probably. 30% crit this patch is insane. Maybe 10% crit with the additional sword oath effect?

How about putting Circle of Scorn on the GCD, take away the dot effect and have it cost either tp or mana? Then pld can have an equivelant to Unleash and Overpower.

Edit: Hmmm, on further thought, that might make Flash completely irrelevent though.

The Oaths will never not interrupt combos that would just be obsurd, I can see maybe off GCD but if they didn't interrupt you would just be able to throw shield up as a free rampart so let's move on from that. 30% mitigation/critical for shield/sword is ridiculous as well.

160/180 tp cost, since pld has no reliable way to get tp back itself, would make flash still desirable if you only have to get few adds on you but still gotta hit he boss for quite a while.

30% would be double the amount virus does. And that can be kept up 100% time. So absolutely not.

Especially if ShOath would be 30%.

And if that's the case and the reasoning being "Yoshi said Warrior is dps tank and pld more mitigation tank"

30% crit rate is against that "pld is mitigation not dps"

PLD needs:

A debuff (perticularly one that increases a DPS class DPS) attached to RA.

Inceased emnity for SB and RoH

Shield Swipe oGCD

Reduced CD for bulwark OR allow for magic to be blocked while active

Add something (anything) useful to Tempered Will

Rework Clemency completely

Have cover block magical and physical damage.

Have Sheltron restore TP and MP

Attach some damage to enhanced flash.

Take health factor off of Spirits Within

Reduce CD for Divine Veil and allow for self activation.

TBH I don't even understand why this thing exists in the first place considering that a tank is supposed to be constantly taking damage. The only times when you can guarantee that your SW will be at max potency is when you're OT lol.

Legacy moves is all I really can come up with. But overall ya... Pretty dumb design...

Ohh I forgot. Sword Oath needs to be oGCd. Not Shield Oath though becuase that would be insanely OP. But Sword Oath for sure.

I think Bulwark could do with an additional effect, actually. If you look at RI, it's seemingly useless on magic fights, but because it gives you +1 Wrath/Abandon it can be used for that purpose. I'm not really sure what would work for PLD though, maybe a shorter duration "block all magic attacks" type thing? Or a deflect type effect akin to Vengeance against magic attacks? Something like that would be cool considering the CD for Bulwark and how useless the shield is in general in magic fights.

It would be more beneficial to PLDs overall kit if Bulwark allowed for magic to be blocked. That is mostly because I feel the mitigation type design is horrid and needs to go.

Honestly for how long Bulwarks CD is and how PLD is supposed to be the "mitigation king" I would take it a step further and say Bulwark needs to be a 100% blockrate AND block magic.

Paladins (and the other tanks) should use VIT in their damage calculations for some of their attacks if not all. If you do the math the dps classes still beat tanks by a mile, but that boosted output from a Paladin rocking full VIT gear would bridge the gap and fix most headache arggo issues in the raids.
