Oh yeah, let me just add a full Alex Savage set into my inventory client side ^^ /sarcasm
What is in the inventory have to be saved server side, not client side. The only thing that can be saved client side is how it is sorted in the inventory.

Inventory absolutely has to be handled server side, unless you want people easily cheating their way to ungodly amounts of gear and riches.Quote:
Perfect reason why some of this should be client side. If they were, then there wouldn't be this inventory space issue. Everything doesn't have to be server side.
This thread is making me think a number of you really do not know how data management works :/
Personally I'd like to see more items IN the Key Items section that for some reason, are not. Example? Our wedding rings. Why does it take up space in our main inventory/armoury chest? You have to keep it with you to use it so it's always there in either your inventory or your chest. Move it to Key Items please.
And as far as people having so many items in their Key items. Do the quests. I still have Items I need to turn in for relic but I STILL haven't taken up the first row which is 5 items. If you have 25 items like another player mentioned, you need to do those quests and clear them out. lolol
The inventory has to be server side, but I can't see why the full inventory data should need to be synced between client and server constantly. Server should push updates to item status to the client as needed (durability, new item acquired). Client side actions that affect inventory state (equipping an item, applying a dye, discarding an item, desynth) should be handled on a per-transaction basis (item with GUID <x> equipped in mainhand, item with GUID <y> placed in inventory slot 7).
I actually have filled my key items inventory before....I was pretty disappointed in my hoarding.
I think its funny were told inventory has restrictions to how the game was made/ps3 ect and yet inventory is np if were paying for it each month via rent-able retainers for up to 1,050 extra spaces. So "restrictions" is really just a excuse to say "Pay for it"
retainer inventory are not part of character data, i guess. I think the only thing from retainer that is part of the character data is the info which retainer is own by the character. While the retainer data is a data for itself that is accessed by clicking on the retainer bell.
Also, just create alts as mules and use the FC safe to transfer the items.
Id be fine with a free retainer or to inventory with HW and all the new extra items, it doesn't need to be my actual person. fc safe space to swap off is usually only a option in very small fc's. Bigger fc have very little safe space and leaders can grow upset at members erasing all inventory history to mule things off.
