Where are the -real- Fishing improvements?

Correct me if I am wrong, but haven't fishers also lost the bonus stats we have out our MH that originally made up for our lack of an OH? I'm pretty sure that MNR/BOT/FSH Main hand all have identical stats now. I do not have the scrips rod yet, so that may be different but I'm pretty sure in ARR a L28 fishing rod had more stats on it than a pickaxe of the same level.

Again, if I'm wrong let me know but I almost swear that's how it was and they either forgot to up the stats for FSH MH in HW or the just reduced it down to be equal to the other DoL I assume because they lowered how much perception/gathering we need for 'unspoiled' fish to be more in line with the change to our main hands.

My point is, there are ways that IRL we get around not being able to get exactly what we want from fishing, I'm not saying the FSH retainer is bad, I'm just saying it's not an excuse to not give us Poseidon's charity or something of the sort

We've asked for this for a long time. A Tacklebox is what a lot of fishers want, since it would not only add stats, but could be a place to store lures and bait, to un-clutter the inventory.

Please, all of this. Chum was a step in the right direction to help catch more fish easily, but it can be improved upon.

Nah, you just have to find the correct bait for the fish your trying to land.You want it to limit as many other fish as you can with it so that you zero in on the one you want. Its not hard, but it does take some homework.

Nah, you just have to find the correct bait for the fish your trying to land.You want it to limit as many other fish as you can with it so that you zero in on the one you want. Its not hard, but it does take some homework.

This system is hardly well polished, it's like someone kinda lumped something together and said "here's Fishing, glhf" if we had something like the tacklebox it would open fishing to the ability to have a botanist/miner-like window with the ability to see what lures allow you to catch what fish. Just like the miner ability "Preparation" which shows you information that otherwise would be unavailable to fishers. If you look at "homework" websites you can see tons of fishers just kinda guessing at what a fish's harvest gathering level requires and how much perception is recommended to get the HQs of it. Fishing just seems lazily put together. To reply again to a previous poster, Fishing is not a "hobby class" it's a gathering class. Hobby things are like sightseeing and post-moogle. Fishing needs real effort put into it for people to play it. I can list off 5 fish that are normally high demand on any given server but on mine there are no supply because people find fishing boring.
