This is actually incorrect. Getting 2'nd place does not increase the loss streak EXP bonus, but it also doesn't reset it. To put the system plainly...

1'st Place: Resets the EXP bonus.
2'nd Place: Does not increase or reset the EXP bonus.
3'rd Place: Increases the EXP bonus.

All places are effected by the EXP bonus you currently have. So, a 1'st place with a high bonus might give 600 PvP EXP, then the bonus is reset.

Fairly sure the maximum EXP bonus possible is 50%, resulting in 600, 450, or 300 EXP depending on place at the end of a match.
