Some advice to people, in hopes to resolve issues

LOL I tanked as a PLD in dusk vigil at the last boss it was at about 30% 2nd bar just filled gave the ultimatum.

Use LB or I will.

BLM in the pt used it right away.

In a way I disagree LB is kind of a waste at 5% a little sooner than that would be better. The ones knocking back and sleeping things aren't even the dps half the time. it's the healers. White mages are pro at that, and while lvling my smn it's annoying as fuck. Plus healers please understand that a smn uses dot damage. I still use the spells I can while lvling a smn but PLEASE quit telling me my poisons are useless because as a smn that's about all I have, not like I am a black mage...

SMNs seem to beat BLMs around in every way now :P

I agree with most but not with LB why save it the whole dungeon use it where you see fit i.e. A boss or a big mob and also healing is brain dead easy if you understand that you have to heal the tank you will be fine it only gets hard a higher levels...

I understand I'm fairly new to the game I'm still just lvling a smn, but I honestly had a healer tell me not to poison things because it's the worst way to kill... so what I'm I suppose to spam ruin the whole time and not touch anything else? that just seems stupid?

Obviously not, because I've had healers that just couldn't keep anyone alive, resulting in them getting kicked since we weren't getting anywhere. A lot of the time they are high leveled people in a low level dungeon, which is sad. Considering all of the healing fails I've seen, not everyone thinks healing is as easy as either of us think.

But people, why are we focusing on the LB part of the thread? There's more important things people should know. It's quite obvious there's a lot of split feelings on the LB part. Who cares as long as a tank or healer doesn't waste it? Or if it's not wasted period. We should be giving more variety of information than just about LBs. I know I've missed plenty of things to mention.

I've had people rage at me for using an LB at the start of a boss fight. "You're supposed to use it at the end!!!" they screamed, but of course they couldnt explain why...

BLM's seem to be the worst at newbie errors, ive seen quite a few who dont cast F3 before F2 in thier aoe rotation, some who cast Thunder in the middle of a AF rotation and some who cast Fire/Blizz seemingly at random. A couple of them ive ended up asking them repeatedly if they were a bot and kicking them when they dont respond.

Yes you're supposed to use dots, unless the mob is about to die and they wont tick for more damage than just spamming ruin would do.

You are indeed supposed to use your poisons most of the time. Only when something is about to die should you not bother with poisons.

And after 50, you'll have some burst damage too. So don't worry :). The one advantage BLMs have over SMNs won't be as much of an advantage after that.

I'm always amused when a tank/healer uses the LB since the DPS are saving it for like 2%.

That healer didn't have a #*$&ing clue what they were talking about. DoTs are the source of a ton of your damage.

The only time you shouldn't DoT up a mob is if it's almost dead.
