It's not the amount of exclusivity we have (I could care less), it's the amount of receptivity that comes in.
People feel bad over Snow's/Lightning's Outfit? There's a lot more glamors that are almost as good as that.
are you ok

You can't have everything.
@Titor
And I'm sure there's more people wanting everything handed to them; be it from past events or from content currently in the game. Currently the only exclusive content in the game is the FFXIII glamours, FFXI and DQX minions (bardings from past events as well, but some of those are on the Market Board). I could go a step further and include EX Primal clears/horses and Binding Coil clears/gear.
If SE were to bring back the FFXIII event, though, then they should throw in a new event (unrelated to FFXIII) with it. The reason for this is because the XIII event offers NOTHING to players who already did it. Including a new event with it gives everyone something to do.
Sure, keep it exclusive when you actually do something to earn it, time shouldn't be a factor deciding exclusivity. What did you all do? Spend money for your subscription and maybe a minor quest and you got the items.
Could you imagine what would happen if they closed off Coil because of time exclusivity? Is it okay to say "Nothing wrong with a little exclusivity" there too?
I bet all of you "It's exclusive and I got it so nyeh to you and your wants" people would be complaining for days if SE somehow managed to give a different set of items to new players. Like what if they made it so you could only be a girl Roegadyn or a male Miqo'te if you weren't a legacy player? What about if you could only make an Au Ra if you made a new character? Are you all okay with that as well?
Then the answer becomes simple, have the stuff available on some kind of vendor. At least you have to work for Ex Primal clears and horses, some of these events are so minimal effort that if you happen to meet the level requirement and can spent 20 minutes of your day you'll never have to do it again. Asking for the same opportunity to spend 20 minutes or at least have a way to get the items isn't asking for handouts, it's asking for the same opportunity that everyone else had, which as equally paying customers, SE has the duty to obligate in ways possible.
Thank you. This is all I am saying, for real. If RL kept someone away for whatever, or a new player is joining the game, give them a chance to get it as well. No one is asking for it to 'get handed' to them like auto add to inventory or whatever, but redoing the EXACT SAME EVENT you did, or even spending REAL MONEY in the cash shop for it, is hardly a free hand out. It is just an opportunity for someone to experience what you have experienced and use items and character customization that you can use.
I don't have a Legacy tattoo though. I joined in 2.1 and I'm fine with only Legacy players having it.
Coil is a raid, not a one-time event or an event item. Apples and oranges, my friend.Quote:

My argument was mostly aiming at "The amount of exclusivity that people want in this game is sickening," which is silly. The only time people ever say "exclusive only!" is whenever this kind of thread or Legacy threads pop up. Any other time it's something else OR "can we have this?" "I want this." "SE plz or riot."
I even followed up with a "should they return the event, then they should..." so I'm not saying no to the return of the event, just that they shouldn't return something everyone who has been playing since 2013-early 2014 without something else they could do.
