Why should it be a bad idea? And I think that the "Junior"-Thing is gone now....


It's not a "Junior"-Class of WHM/SCH....it's just different!
Just the fact that he can switch between the two stances doesn't make him weaker per se! BUT the AST is really hard to play if you want to be really good, compared to the other classes!
And for Savage, its even harder!
Because in Savage there are so many DPS Checks were a SCH can help much easier!

I'm very very lucky to have a FC that doesn't want me to change!
They wait for me, so I can get better gear. But they all like what I'm doing and make me feel necessary! Noone ever said, or felt, that I'm the that makes the group wiping.

Its all about knowing you class!
We tried A1S until now....even if we don't have the iLvl for it. I, for example, have a iLvl of 183 and can soloheal at Faust until the 6th stack.

The whole issue is we are NOT different. We got less tools in trade for a lolrng akward buff system. The rest is basically the same.
Somewhere i am still hoping a redesign is coming up in 3.1 and the current buffs were just a bandage fix.

Would be fine with me....and yes...the RNG system ist just.....I don't know....not to rely on xD

But I really DO think that we're different...just for our instant playstyle. It always sounds like that if we can play a SCH or WHM....than playing AST is just the same...but its not....

If there will be a total redesign at 3.1 I would appreciate it ^^
But I have chosen this Class for a reason and I stay my ground for it!
I just deny to believe that I'm less worthy than a SCH or WHM is!

BUT I also think that the Card system needs a change....

Because it's a boring concept. If the new dps class was "ninja stance or mnk stance" it would be just as boring. People want new jobs to be new. I have no problem with astro being viable and am glad they buffed them. Taking away abilities from other jobs is boring though. Giving them stronger versions of those abilities is insulting.

hm....for some reasons I have to agree with you....
but just the fact that AST have similar skills than SCH/WHM does not make him the same, does it?


So then....what would you recommend to be a "new" healer?

The playstyle of AST is different to the others....the cards are not to rely on...that's true. But to play AST is not boring....is it?
ok, they've took a bit of WHM and a bit of SCH.....but to deal with it with an AST is not the same.

Insulting??? No...not really....
A SCH has its fairy to rely on.....a WHM has its (still) strong healingpower....
An AST has nothing of that....he just got his cards to compensate his "weakness"
and this cards are Random.....so he needs some "stronger" skills to balance that! For you have to manage you Cards while you're healing!

Isn't it just whining of the other Healer-classes for the AST got some "stronger" skills?
They just seemed to be stronger...but they are not

You sould have the selfconfidence to stay over it....
There is nothing an AST can do better than a WHM or SCH at all! Just different....

There's a problem when the supposed Hybrid class (AST) can't be hybrid in combat. Moreover, I find SCH is more hybrid than AST, SCH cooldowns let him throw some big AoE Heals and Eos acts like a light WHM.

AST buffs were nice and at least now the class is viable, but AST design is still horrible. Hybrid class that can't be hybrid because it's locked in 1 stance while in combat and it's still a WHM/SCH wannabe.

How come we don't have Slots ability that was always a ability of the gambling class in FF...maybe add slots and whatever it lands on you get a buff or heal or something that would be cool i think
