Also, apparently, +5 STR = +1 Attack, so loading up on +STR will help your Attack a little bit, but it's better to have a balance between the two, probably.

I was playing around with this the other day with some STR rings and didn't notice a change in attack power as well.
I have read this before, and am curious if there have been some actual testing to back that claim up. Considering we don't see STR affecting AP values maybe that is the explanation for it (not doubting it, just want some clarification). Better yet, a dev could comment on this and clear the whole matter up :P.Quote:
STR currently reflects consistence on the numbers you get while attack power raises your peak damage i.e. raising your max damage you can do. To sum that up, atk > str if you're trying to boost your top end damage until a certain point, str just makes your top end more consistent and less random. I think I explained that right...
yeah, why it doesnt reflect? so +5 str= 1 attack? i dont think so, i took off all my gear and didnt see any change on my attack power, i know we should keep balanced the str and attack atributes, but thats why i want to see that reflected all the time in my attributes.
if i take 10 str i want to see 5 attack power gone, or if i take dex i want to see accuracy decrease and critical hate.
i hope we get a response about this maybe is not working until they add attributes customization.
from what i understand str affects min damage so say you do 100-200 dmg add str will increase the min dmg avg so it will be like 150-200 dmg. attack increases the max damage you can do
Yes I also noticed that mnd affects healing potency... while str does nothing to stats.
Well if STR affects something wouldnt be best to be able to see it? Maybe you have a cap on that stat and you can save some materia or gear and get accuracy status or critical hit status instead of doing it blinded.
