Pally dps in A1 Savage

Usually my group stacks on one side of faust and has war on the opposite side of the group overpower adds and attack faust inbetween the adds spawning. I use 3 slaying accessories and 2 vit in shield oath and usually pull about 740 during faust. Some of which is coming from circle of scorn on adds but that's how we do it.

Have a Paladin single tank. Get Warrior to pretend he's a DPS and do like 1.1k to Faust alone.

You end up squeezing out way more ST damage if you have one tank just handle all the 'tanking' and one be a DPS (I think a PLD can do like 1k to Faust under ideal circumstances).

As PLD or DRK I just tank everything and let the WAR go DPS mode full time. The damage he & the SCH put out make up for what I lose. I just make sure to let the adds run past me before I pull them so they can't attack me from behind or swipe the party. Pop Rampart/Shadowskin + Foresight + Convalescence + Awareness at the start, then pop them again as they come up while rotating in Sentinel/Shadow Wall near the end. I average 400-500 DPS on Faust doing this as DRK in mostly VIT gear, excluding DPS from adds.

Just have the paladin tank everything and have your off-tank be pure DPS. I end up with a modest 400-450 on Faust this way (3 slaying 2 fending, fighting in shield oath) but our warrior busts out around 1100.

A Paladin isn't going to put out 800 DPS as MT. It just hits too damn hard to keep Sword Oath up for long.

It depends on a lot of stuff.

Yes, a PLD can put out 800 DPS on Faust. With a pot, food, melded right side + slaying, a lot of i200+ gear, maybe a NIN for enmity, and in SwO for a large portion of the fight with proper dCD usage, they can push into the 800 range and it's not even really hard to do.

But, the question is if that's even a DPS gain for the raid. In reality, it's probably not.

If you run SCH and WHM, the SCH will probably have to switch to healing much sooner than they normally would. So, you lose some DPS there.

Next, since you aren't solo-tanking, you are going to lose a lot of OT DPS.

In terms of overall raid DPS, it's much better just to have your PLD solo-tank everything and burn the boss. Don't even bother getting cute with Faust taunting. SCH can full-time DPS until 5-6 adds and a WAR will push 1100+ DPS while you'll still probably chip in a solid 500+.

800 dps isn't possible at all on PLD even with full slaying and sword oath. Best I can put out is about 500 dps in the case of a typical dungeon boss. That's average for the pld's around me as well. WAR can push out more. Seen them do about 800 if they care about their job, but that too is in full slaying while in dps stance.

Not sure how you guys are adding up your numbers, but I guess I don't know or everyone is trying to make themselves seem greater than they really are.

I have no idea what gear you're using, but in 180 stuff I was able to do 800ish on the first boss in Fractal, on a pld. The highest I've seen was around 950 on that boss. On Faust as DRK, I pull around 910, but I switch to grit at about 50% or so. Our healers (whm/sch) both pull in around 400-600 dps on him as well. Take it for what you will, but what you said is wrong.

Lol, your dps really is an abomination there...800 dps is easy and that's without storm's eye to add to it, nor food and pots. Are you just using rage of halone repeatedly? This isn't a realm reborn anymore.

I'm 192 (187 in full slaying) and know how to use Goring blade and Royal Authority. You guys must be reading the numbers different than I am cause there's no way to get 800 dps on a PLD. Like I said in my other post, in Sword Oath and in full 180+ slaying accessories, I can only average out to 500 according to the numbers at the end of a lvl 60 dungeon boss. I just look at the main numbers on the main screen after the fight. How do you guys read your numbers?
