YOSHI, we Still Want Darkside Aura CHANGED!!!

I mean I don't like the aura myself and I do agree it should be changed but I think in this particular case I can't really blame anyone for creating new threads or bumping old ones because I mean, Yoshida said they changed how bright the aura is and they feel like people have calmed down complaints with that. I didn't even notice it was dimmed and it wasn't in the patch notes. If he's assuming it's fine now based on how quiet the community has been then well... Yeah people are going to make new threads and bump old ones. That'd be like saying, well there hasn't been a wanderer's minuet thread in a while, all the bards must be happy now we feel we've done enough to satisfy the community. I bet you the next day we'd see 10+ threads with a bunch of replies about how they dislike the skill still.

If he hadn't have said that in an interview I'm sure at least most people would have kept waiting patiently for a fix in 3.1 since I'm pretty sure that's what everyone was hoping for.

I sign. Darkside hurts my eyes. I always try to put it off. It's not okay to have to avoid the effect of one skill because of its bad design. Please SE.

Are you sitting 2 inches from your screen? Maybe i am one of the very few people who this has no effect on, unless its like 100 drks on the screen but by that point, You may have bigger problems to worry about.

Arguments about whether or not it's literally an eyesore aside, I don't understand the disconnect between the community feedback on this forum and what the developers end up believing players are/aren't happy with. There often seems to be some confusion or misrepresentation of our opinions by the time they reach the developer's ears. Is the language difference the issue? Where is the ball being dropped, exactly?

To be honest I could care less what they do with darksides visuals, but I would like some glowing red eyes though ...

Did we really need another thread on it? Seriously, the one that I linked above hasn't left the front page. I honestly think this is part of the reason that a lot of our feedback just doesn't get to the developers. We make a thread. The CM's see the thread and forward a link to it to the devs. The devs look at it. Then... that thread's gone dead cause we're talking about it in three new threads that have cropped up but they weren't linked to. The devs assume that the problem's already been fixed or has otherwise ceased to be an issue.

I'm not concerned when i have it on, sometimes I turn it off for politness, but ultimately its my decision whether i want the aura on or off.

And no i never saw it as a problematic effect, its a faint glow, we deal with so much more in game. on the level of enemy aoes or holy. I would like to know if there's a reason they chose to not make it a battle effect, but people tend not to pay attention to buffs as it is.(im looking at you, walking dead!)

Yes we did, because Yoshi read that other thread & thought we meant we just wanted the color intensity toned down.

Hence, "...we still..."

And evidence shows the Devs here virtually never revisit threads they've commented in.

They're very "hit it & quit it" with their forum attitude.

So many threads they reply, first response goes along the lines of, "you guys completely missed the point! We meant X..." and nothing, ever again.

Two things I don't understand with Darkside is (1) why is the animation so wide around our character and not smaller (like the animations of Wrath and Greased Lightning), and (2) why would dark energy be red? I'd prefer black flames as mentioned and shown in the DRK quest line.

All I want is for it to obey my settings. I turned non-party effects off for a reason, so why does this not follow those settings?
