Add a cash shop currency.

Let's face it, people that ride Slepinir want to feel like the dude in rush hour traffic driving a Ferrari.

You can already buy merchandises to get a code for bonus items. No need for them to be in the cash shop.

Cash shop currencies only exist to obscure the actual prices of things. People are more likely to blow money on stuff when they can't easily see how much they're spending. Most cash shops force you to buy the currency in bulk as well so you have to buy more than you actually want to spend.

The fact FFXIV has none of these dirty tactics being used in their cash shop so far is a very very good thing. That someone would ever ask for such a currency to be introduced leaves me scratching my head a bit...

It already has one, it's called crysta. And people being opposed to this has me scratching my head a bit, if you don't like it don't use it? It's not like I'm suggesting they put adverts in the game...

Giving you cash shop cash does exactly that. Hey look we have this cash shop money we even gave you some, go to the cash shop plz. (the idea being ohh I need 100 more but can only buy cash shop money in X increment well it is only 5 dollars more)

The difference is that you also use Crystas to pay your subscription for XIV and XI. Don't expect to get free crystas in some ways. Crystas is more a SE currency, not a cash shop currency

This game has quality standards. I know it may be a bit of culture shock if you're used to f2p games, but advertisements and the like are not appropriate for a game of this model.

Considering that the Mogstation refuses to take either of my cards month after month, Crysta via PayPal seems to be the only way I can pay for my sub besides foraging for a Time Card.

Firstly, crysta is used to buy subscription time so no, it's not the same thing.

Secondly, you are asking and encouraging SE to devote more attention to the cash shop; something that a very large number of players would rather never existed in the first place. Any encouragement for them to do new things with the cash shop means things we would have gotten with our subscription becoming additional extras we have to buy (see the Sleipnir mount). So the "don't like it, don't use it" argument doesn't work here since it would directly negatively affect the rest of us if SE paid any attention to you.
