That was in reply to the threat that is bearing down on eorzea question, I would think it means that the events based around that will be constantly happening and changing, so one day we could be fighting off the garlemald forces, then the next day Gridania is under garlean power for example, which would be an example of a live event.

Haven't you heard from the GMs wandering near Ul'dah?! Seriously, they speak of doom coming upon us...Dural Tharal and several others appear tell you some things and run off...They hint at the end is coming...but the end is the beginning...It's all happening live...the even which alters the land will happen live...I expect major explosions to reshape the land masses...the awakening of magitek monsters etc.
