An investment in fine sand

idk, I pretty much sold all my moraine, made a nice little profit at 2k apiece, now i'm 200k richer for it.

agreed, but even if they do the people that bought the sand will only lose a few hundred gil out of a few thousand a synth. you figure a synth is 2400+ profit so even if they do drop drastically afterwards they'd still make 2k profit. all i keep being told is that they are doing it just in case. it's a better safe than sorry purchase.

the upside far out weight the downside of the buy if they plan to making shards imo. personally, i will buy a few stacks, but not going to buy tons.

If you buy crystals at 1k, break even is 84g... people buy crystals for 2k in your server? how much is fish then? 10k? I'm sure there's money to be made there if you find the loophole :)

As for sand, of course everybody is doing it. Still, I expect the average shard price to go up to the 200-300 range once those stocks start diminishing, give it a ~1month.

It doesn't matter if its the commonest drop in the game (I wouldn't call a drop from Djiggas a common drop given the monster is not so common), if it's a mob drop and its a highly needed item for all crafters, the demand will be far greater than the amount coming into the market from mob farmers so the price would rise waay above the 350 tag that the npc has now. Even right now the cheapest fine sand in the MW is at 1k >.>

Crystal 999g, Sand 358g. Total 1357g
Result = 16(Minimum Quantity), * 150(sale) = 2400 = 1043 profit.

Thats an nice profit when you multiply it big or manage to get lucky, eg I did a lot of 500g crystals and sold at 200-250. The best is when you do have 16 lightning, then use 4 fish at 230, putting my total to 1357 + 920 = 2277, result = 48wind sold at 150 = 7200. So made 7k out of 2.2k, thats an nice 227% profit! 1m becomes 2.2m, and 10m becomes 22m and so fourth.

Or kill elementals XD for 6 crystals of that ele and chance at a cluster, fortunately I can breakthem, prepatch. Thats how I started off, days in cassi hollow to get 1k lightning crystals!

You can even make more profit now as Earth is usually more than wind these days and its cheaper to make lol.

Just this is very dry dulling boring! But it pays =D, Crystal + Sand = Shards + Fish = Shard = profit!

i recall the price went sky high for a while on Lindblum. 10x original, and then eventually it ran out and then there were no Shards for a while, but lately there's been plenty and i could never figure out why. Anyone know?

High Demand, easy to obtain, its a quick buck.
