Really? At first I thought they were going to have branches for jobs but I thought they said that it would be one job per class? Seriously, as long as you are a DD with a great sword, I'm ok.

You actually can DD as a Gladiator right now. Yes it does require cross-class skills but isn't what the armoury system is all about? You even have a few +atk bucklers to help you. Now with phys levels removed and static points allotment, it'll be a bit less viable, unfortunately.

Great Sword will most likely be GLA weapon. Expect those, if they are actually meant for a more DPS approach, to have the stats to be one the offensive side. Pop the right gear + abilities (and points once we'll be able to do some allotment again) and you'll be all set.

And there is also materias....

True, but we're going to be locked in on skills once jobs come out, and I'll only play gla if I don't have to tank (I'm a bad tank lol)

I think SE mentioned they would be working on weild styles rather than classes at the moment. No sauce for that sorry, but I remember reading something about that.

As far as I know you are not obligated to be the job, you can stay Gladiator.

if great sword was a new class it would make sense for it to be DD, as a two handed sword + no shield . but who knows what will be what, still can't get my crystal ball to work :(

Considering the Adjustments to recipes I think they are taking away some weapons.
