Just this. Jesus SE what the ...? You and your new designers are a disappointment.

they are trying WAY too hard to not take the obvious steps. It just sucks things like search, mail, linkshell management (all very basic and imo very nessicary) things are pretty much on the back burner. You can wow me all day with new events and cool monsters...but until i can utilize the basics effectively, it all tumbles over like a jenga tower.
This this 1 million times this !!
Linkshell management and Terrain re-design can burn in a fire for all I care, just make it easier to make a damn party, this is supposed to be an MMO damn it.
Granted 11's system was better than what we have now, it still left a lot to be desired, I think Wow's system is much better in comparison. (warts and all)Quote:
they should of just cloned FFXI's search but nooooo
Completely Agreed..
Are the server issues really that bad that's preventing such basic core functionality in the game?
I've seen way too many posts on the search system ignored completely.
Come on SE.. confront this issue upfront already.. give it more attention, this is on the top of the priority list. We need direct feedback on this..
Seriously, things like content and new features can burn by Ifrit if the core functionality like search and battle system is messed up. Game simply can't be fun without the basics there. No one wants to spam fest in a party and no one wants to beg people with /shouts to form a party.
Just leave everything and address these issues already.. You can simply forget a successful re-launch without these things sorted.
Remember that this game was built on 'server side load', rather than 'player side load'.
When 10 thousand demands go over to the servers for player searches of every kind every hour,
and maybe 10 thousand more for AH/Market ward searches etc etc,
but the current state of the server can't even handle downtown Ul'dah PRE PS3 population,
let alone handle any mass PvP or PvE content yet,
we're just gonna have to be a little more patient.
If you look at the patch notes and look BEYOND the footnotes they have listed there
and realise the epic amount of algorithm work they put into this patch could probably fill a small library.

With new tutorials being introduced, it's a sure bet people will actually be able to figure out how to use the current one(which isn't that hard to begin with).
Agreed with the Linkshell functions though, although the way they implemented them makes them seem like they were placeholders for companies anyway.
Perhaps that's the case, it still has to be prioritise, no point adding all this dungeon content if you can barely scrap together a party to do it.
People want to click a button and get a list not click 20 options and get a blank page.Quote:

I thought this was going to be another troll thread, but search and linkshell admin really should be top priority.
