Astro in savage

Yea AST/WHM is the only way to clear it safely for AST as the stacking Regen buys you enough time to do what you need to do.

I was super happy about the buffs but I think it was not enough for Alexander
I will go back to SCH from next raid
The DPS as SCH is just much better and safer (fairy spam) and the DPS check seem pretty tight in Alex right now
Mana is still an issue as AST if you want to heal and DPS

Still enjoying AST for my daily roulette, Ravana and such but in terms of Alexander right now, it won't cut it for me

The buffs where just not enough, will a savage progress raid bring an AST over WHM or Scholar? I honestly don't think so.

Savage Alex is a clear sign AST is subpar vs. WHM/SCH. They addressed some mechanical problems with the class but healing potency is still shit on their two main healing skills. Why in the world is Benefic 380 pot? Its the AST's version of cure and physick yet 20 lower pot with one ok emergency heal. SE you can take some time to make AST feel more unique but at least bump the pot for Benefic and Benefic II to 400 and 650. While your at it change the 15% mechanic on Benefic to crit instead of instant cast. Instant cast don't matter when you have to wait for the buff to apply in order to use it and burn mp even faster. More healing crits = less mp consumption to.

I didn't do it yet but IMO AST/SCH is bad combination because they don't give MND bonus. I still prefer one of the party have WHM.

I feel your pain. I want to switch from SCH>AST but AST really is no where near capable at raid healing yet. Tried out AST myself after yesterdays patch to compare it to SCH, and the "buffs" really have not done anything when it comes to raid healing on AST..........sigh

Before we went into savage yesterday I really wanted to go as AST but decided to go in as SCH first because I obviously have more experience on SCH than on AST. A few runs in I decided to stay on SCH. If my static lets me I really want to squeeze some rounds in today but I am not really optimistic and I'd feel bad for dropping Selene.

Hopefully SE will monitorize AST numbers in Alex Savage and provide further buffs if needed. However, we don't know how fast they'll be doing that, so it might be the time to definetely switch to SCH :(

Probably big changes on AST will be in 3.1 (like Nocturnal stance big changes :3 )

Easy answer.

We had a dps low geared for Faust, going AST/WHM resulted in the Enrage.

I switched to WHM/WHM, resulted in a kill.

The effect of the cards are too much irrelevant so what you only compare is dps AST vs dps WHM. Which is actually revelant.
