Fishing Aetherial Reduction Tread

You don't need to list yield per individual fish. Everything is shared across all fishes. Here's the rules:

- Every freshwater fish yields Water Crystals/Clusters
- Every skyfishing fish yields Ice Crystals/Clusters

Yield is depending on the level of fish. Lv56 fishes yield about 20-30, Lv58 fishes yield about 40-50, Lv50 fishes yield 60+.

Every Aetherial Reduction of rarity 2/8 or higher yields an extra item, the higher the rarity, the more items are possible.

- Clusters are added as a possible drop from rarity 2 onwards
- Duskborne Aethersand is added as a possible drop from rarity 3 onwards
- Dawnborne Aethersand is added as a possible drop from rarity 5 onwards (unconfirmed)
- Seaborne Aethersand is added as a possible drop from rarity 7 onwards (not confirmed if 6 can drop as well)

Higher level fish can drop multiple Duskborne Aethersand (up to 3), evey other type of sand always drops in singles.

About fishes and their times

Missing Fish:
Manasail (10:00 ET - 13:59 ET [unconfirmed!]) Red Balloon > Rudderfish or Sky Faerie > Manasail | Tharl Oom Khash (The Churning Mists)

Wrong Time:
Caiman is available from 18:00 ET to 20:30 ET (confirmed)

Preferred Bait:
Caiman: Stonefly Nymph will always catch a Blueclaw Shrimp which will very very high likely (90%+) catch a Caiman
Thaliak Caiman: Bladed Steel Jig will catch Sweetfishes and Bullfrogs a lot more commonly than Goblin Jigs or Purse Web Spiders and the likes.

Are you sure 7/8 gives Sea sand.. Or just 8/8.. And can it be 56 and 58 Fish?.. I can't be 100% sure but I think I got 2 Sea sand last week from the lv58 Pteranodos. Any one know for sure?

This is a stupid question but ... How do you manage to know if it's a small or medium or big Tug ? I mean for the big one my character stand up from his seat but how do you know for medium or small ?

By the sound.

Seaborne/Leafborne/Landborne are all from 7/8+ things. Got multiple Seaborne from both 7/8 and 8/8 but its not guaranteed.

Small thug means the movement of the rod is very slight when it bite,
medium thug you will have the rod move a lot more than small thug but you will not stand, also the sound is diferent.
on controller there diferent vibrations too.

So the only fishes that give water crystals/clusters are Dravanian Bass and Thaliak Caiman?

Actually can anyone help on this question as well? I've been trying to get Dravanian Bass and Thaliak Caiman, but every collectible I get from them is at 7/8 or 8/8. I don't get any clusters at all. Only Crystals and Aethersands.

That all chalks up to luck, really. The rarer the fish, the more common the aethersand. If you somehow manage to catch fish at 2/8, you're guaranteed crystals.

My actual problem is I want only 2/8 but I always get 8/8. Hoping that lowering my gear from Serpentskin to Dhalmel will help that.

No it won't. If you HQ you get 7-8/8 if you get NQ you get 2-4/8, but since all of them are Mooches and you want to use Patience, good luck NQing them.

Collectability/rarity is purely based off of fish lenght x10.
