My FC has about 19 people in it, of which I think the most was what.. six?
Anyway since the main three of us are all friends we really just use the FC chat as our own chat channel...so it's very active. Depending on who's on though, my LS can be more chatty... but to be fair, I know one of my friends shares at least four LS with me, and the other shares like two. So.
So yes I use /fc all the time, pretty much just type it in as soon as I get on.
My FC is very chatty. We try to keep everyone involved.
I'm always alone with 30 people inactive (only 2 active) and still waiting them to comeback :( . Fortunately I always hangout with JP neighbor and my spouse so I'm not really feel alone :)
My FC is rather social, with many members scattered around the globe, so 24/7 there's someone doing something. So there's always talk here and there.
Really chatting on the weekends, sometimes it's hard to keep up!
Since the expansion came out, my FC has been a lot more active and chatty. It's really nice to see. :)
We have a FC with its FC channel and a LS that is connected to the FC but is a recipient of way more friends. Due to this we mostly use the LS.
We're only about 20 active people and some of them play odd hours. Usually there's some chatting every few minutes when people come back from a dungeon, and then by the end of the night, most of us gather in the FC house and that's when the FC chat becomes very active.

Depends on time of day but most evenings we have 10+ people on. I always have my chat set to /fc, we talk about pretty much anything. Also depends on what type of fc it is I suppose. Have a large LS too which get's really chatty too. I love to have a natter while I play so suits me. ^-^
My FC chat is pretty active. Then again, we're a small social FC of 40 people with an emphasis on raiding. :)
