Tataru is special?

I saw it more that she's just inexperienced in aetheryte travel, so she picks up on this kind of thing more than others. Could also have to do with her being a poor mage (maybe she's not good at using aether well) so magical things could affect her slightly differently

I also assume when she says "just me" she means of the Scions (or even just you, her and Alph); she'd be more like the "common" person who doesn't use aetheryte travel really at all, and attuning and using aetherytes may be "odd" to most. The other Scions, however, would be using aetheryte travel a lot in their work, so are numb to any "different" sensations it causes.

It has been mentioned previously that for normal people, Aetheric travel is more taxing physically, so they don't do it very often, thus why Airships are still big business rather than everyone using Aetherytes everywhere.

You've got me wondering how taxing it could possibly be now. I thought about how they were only for people who possessed the echo but thinking further, that doesn't make much sense. BUT it still makes more sense then the amount of times where major characters could have used teleport but just didn't.

I know I know. Not teleporting makes this story more interesting. Just like people forgetting to use their phones in stories based in the real world. But the amount of times I've had to save people in teleport-friendly locations. Surely it isn't too taxing to teleport that it reaches the point of lethality.

I hope Tataru does have some gift beyond what we can already confirm. She has played the long game in terms of grabbing a part of the spotlight. First seeming like a minor character, less significant than Momodi and her counterparts and gradually to having story missions purely to bond with her, giving her a close-up in a CG trailer and being your second or third longest standing ally besides Alphinaud and Raubahn through most of the HW story. An admin with the Echo would be really useful.

If Tataru were being built up for something, I doubt it'd have anything to do with Aetheryte. This honestly just seems like her revealing her, "Civilian," status. To Adventurers and the likes, attuning to Aetheryte is no doubt second nature, but she does it so infrequently she's unaccustomed to the sensation.

Well, for us to teleport it takes about 4 in-game minutes...without interruption...and we use it all the time. Think of how much more effort someone not used to doing it takes to teleport

She is super special. Its what makes everything switter and nicer after a terrible day ^-^

She's Special because she isn't special. She's our normal person, that isn't a great warrior, or great leader, or great spy. She's our great grounding device, keeping us level.

Remember at the end of 2.55 when she helps pull Alphinaud out of his stupor ((Sortof))? Because he can't be sitting there wallowing in defeat while Tataru is around. Not because she was super inspirational, or her sweetness broke through his grief, but because if he continued to let himself fall into despair, all it would accomplish would be to bring her down with him. Like how if he stopped trying all he would accomplish is letting the world fall around him, hurting the regular people, exemplified by her.

But somehow she's managed to teach herself Weaving well enough to give [SPOILER] some really interesting new clothes in the story between L57 and L58... next up: Goldsmith?
