I never flame ingame, ever. If there's someone new I try to explain stuff as better as I can. If everybody knows what they are doing I often just don't say a word and simply try my best at my job. But that still doesn't cover the fact some things surprise me. To be fair, I am commendated very regularly, because I tryhard like a pig in every dungeon and save the day on situations where many parties would wipe miserably (eg. everybody with 2-3k hp + paralyze on the curator boss), but there are times, like this last dungeon, where I thought myself *damn, you really nailed it on this one...plus it was a fail party consisting of 2 BRDs which were pretty terrible*...and bang, zero commendations...are you serious?
I always give comm to DPS.
If someone does something to stand out (explaining boss mechanics to a new person, making funny comments or otherwise interacting positively with the party, even having a funny name) I tend to commend them. It wouldn't matter if you're the best healer in the world, the Dragoon that dies and makes a floor tanking joke before he re-engages is more memorable to me. So is the new person that does all the mechanics right with just a short explanation before the pull. In short, you can't go into a dungeon expecting to get handed all of the commendations. Go in with no preconceptions about it; that way when you get them, it's a happy surprise.
I don't even know why you went to the point of mentioning your gear. I certainly don't expect people to commend me just because I have good gear. Your entire post seems like one long rant asking "Why didn't they like me?!" Honestly, the runs I've gotten the most commendations in haven't been the smooth ones. They've been the ones where we have a party full of new people, we wipe repeatedly despite patient explanations, and finally scrape through by the skin of our teeth to get victory right before the enrage.

Sometimes the messy ones are more rewarding overall. ^^
it is completely wrong.
commendations aren't based on anything but a person opinion.
you can get a com for having a name someone like, for being social. for being all around nice, for being the loldrg dead on the floor like always, for being good at your job.
nominating yourself? who are you kanye?
...Are you seriously making this big of a deal over some commendations? Do you really need validation that much? Especially if it's just one freaking dungeon run, lol.
I do my best when I play all specs, and even when I expect commendations for doing awesome and I get none, I move on. I have good and bad days.
Honestly, they don't really do anything. They're just nice to have. *shrug* No reason to make such a fuss.
Play summoner you hook all the commendations because of insane AoE damage and breezing through the dungeons.
But to the topic at hand, people don't tend to look at your performance, most don't even have a parser running or know what that is.
More often than not they won't even notice you did anything and think the DPS alone do all that damage.
