Thoughts on level 60 scholar ability?

Maybe for a super buffed succor/adlo? Have yet to find an opportunity in current content to use this ability.

Best removed from your bar because you probably won't even remember it exists because in a "normal" situation, it makes you worse and in a critical situation you'll probably wipe anyway.

Okay, I'll admit, I recovered from a wipe with it when my party messed up and blew everybody up, but as I said last time, I don't want an ability that's only half useful when others mess up.

Either rework the effect: Increase magic potency to at least 60% or replace it with a ability Best Friend or Sidekick: Summons a retainer with the highest ilevel.

Eos and Selene make scholar stand out and make healing ALOT easier than white mage and astrologian.

Should be 6 charges of Aetherflow instead of 3.

For what it's worth, all the other abilities are excellent (if a little niche, at times). Dissipation leaves me with the impression that its original incarnation was simply too powerful (and they've said as much in interviews), but that it was too late in development to do a lot of proper testing on a new iteration (which is why it straight up doesn't benefit two of Scholar's most important skills).

Use it as an opener. An extra strong ado, hopefully crit, then resummon before pull. Obviously the later into the buff you crit the adlo the better but honestly, what else are you doing while the mnk waits for pb?

For the ones that say it's best use is for dps with more stacks..that's true but a) your dps should not need you do pull out all your tricks to help with checks and b) yoshi said explicitly that healer dps is not counted in for mechanics and encounters in heavensward. So, while it can certainly used for this it should NEVER be one of the only uses we find viable..it's really sad :/

While Yoshi's information about calculating minimum DPS checks has nothing to do with this discussion, I can say confidently that pretty much everyone wishes Dissipation were a viable healing CD as it appears to have been intended.

I'd personally rather have something I'd actually use - even on like a 5-10 min CD with the ability to summon a second fairy for 30-60 seconds. I would have loved more fairy focused abilities. Even now i only use this when a fairy is about to die because I didn't pay much attention or I feel like burning boss in the last few %
