Scholar Lvl 60 quest worst quest ever?

Not only is the targeting crud, I can't see the debuff on my target bar. I focus target Alka Zolka, for instance, and I can see the debuffs on the FT bar, but not on his target bar. I've had this issue on and off for a while (PC version), and have taken to relying on the party list for these kinds of things, which is fine. But that does not work in this quest, and FT only helps with one target. I only got through the quest by blindly leeching all party members until I ran out of MP, then focused on Alka and whomever was tanking the small enemies. It was just a race between boss HP and time at that point. I don't understand why there is a quest that points relies on a weak spot in the UI... The fix is simple: automatically create a party with the NPC you fight with. Then it's an actually useful type of quest for a healer, in fact one we should have more of.

Yeah, that was the main reason why I failed so may times, initially.

If you don't FT or get the debuff yourself, you wouldn't have know that the NPC had status debuff since it doesn't show up in their target bar.

Really though, I did think this fight was weird. It doesn't even tell you you have to leech the NPCs.
Course I was too busy laughing at the obvious hentai implications.

I made a macro to leeche this specific fight as a PS3 User.

At the start of the confrontation, after he is revealed, I marked each other the 3 npcs with Triangle, circle, Square.

/wait 2.5
/target <circle>
/ac Leeches <circle>
/wait 2.5
/ac Leeches <square>
/target <square>

The only reason I'm having it switch it so that you make sure you cured the important debuff, since there are multiple things that can be Leeched.

1st try here but I do target others outside the party all the time on PS4 so im used to it.

Change filter target settings and it should be fine.

Guess I got lucky then, as I one shot it on the PS4 with the controller.

Did this last night, after my first 2 tries of not knowing what the heck i was doing, i sorta of ragequit in fc chat, then took to the web, to find i was so not alone with hating on this quest. Armed with the knowledge about cleansing all three NPCs who you can't all focus target at once and who you can't easily target and dodge the aoe and cleanse every time those damn plague critters appear, i tried again, and again... and finally won. Five tries total...

i love how great you get at the first part of that picking only the ones that advance to the second part instead of clearing them all like i did my first few tries... For me so much of this game is easy, but then you hit these walls called Duties, and some can be real hair pulling experiences. Guess I am not hardcore.
