I took my Astrologian from 30 to 50 in 2 days by FATE grinding, dungeons, and doing the Large Leves in Ishgard when I reached 45. I burned all 100 of my allowances and got me straight to 50 so there are dozens of options. You just gotta find one a little less boring than the last in order to power through it. Hitting level 48 gave me the drive to stay up the extra 3 hours last night to just get it done to 50 :3
Do the hunt bills on the job you are leveling. If you have someone to help you kill the higher level ones even better. They give a decent amount of EXP, like 100k~ per rank and the seals are a bonus for upgrade items. If you were gonna do the hunt bills anyways, might as well get some exp for it.
Temple Leves give about 100k per leve but are not allowance efficient, but good EXP for the time invested if you don't care that you are throwing away leves to get it done quicker.
10 leves vs doing 100 single ones. Singles will take longer to do but more EXP in the end for allowances spent, temples are faster to do but you end up tossing allowances in exchange cause they don't give as much EXP as doing 10 single ones instead.

dungeon grind.. HW dungeons give a ton of exp :3 dont forget we dont have beast tribe dailies in HW yet eithier
"FATE failing" in HW zones.
Just avoid boss FATEs and participate in as many mob FATEs as you can.
Make sure your enemy list registered at least 4 enemies at some point, clear it, and move along to next one.
Have a leve or 2 to kill the time.
