The gap is too big, that's why I think we do need some kind of damage buff. Ninjas can only Goad one person every two minutes and thats only TP, bards can sing for as long as their own MP allows and can restore TP or MP.

If you are expecting a ranged physical dps to equal a magic range dps you are gonna have a bad time.

You bring party wide support over a much longer duration than any other class that means less dps. Does BRD/MCH need better buffs? Sure, if only to stop complaining. I agree that MCH needs a dps buff, both in support and dps.

I would like to see ammo for MCH to be more unique. Maybe if you use Hot Shot with ammo, it will now increase your dmg by 10% instead of 5%. Maybe turn the basic proc chain (Spilt Shot> Slug Shot>Clean Shot) into a combo, but now with ammo, each attack will give an additional effect. Split Shot could distributed dmg in an aoe much like MCH last skill. Slug Shot could do a heavy dmg increase. Clean Shot could give a crit rate up on the enemy.

I'm hardly a game designer so don't chew me out.

With some testing, I found that Wanderer's Minuet actually resulted in a net LOSS of damage at level 52. Sure, you get that fancy 20% bonus on weaponskills, but you're losing auto attacks. My AA hits for about 50% of my Heavy shot / Bloodletter damage. WM only adds less than half that value to each attack and the delay between auto-attacks is basically identical to the recast times.

That being said, given that there are two skills only usable in Minuet with significantly higher potency than our other attacks, I think that's the intended balance. For my part though, given that those skills are on longer recasts I'd probably toss up WM when they're available rather than try to maintain it for the entire fight. So far it seems Bard is just trading convenience for the sake of a single skill, Sidewinder.

No one is stopping you from being bow mage but I believe those of us who do not like being bow mage have the right to voice out as well :)

There are some of us who plays a bard because it is the only mobile range dps class. If SE wants to change bard to be a bow mage, then so be it but give us another mobile dps class. I don't care if it has lower dps than the main dps dealers (DRG, MNK, NIN, SMN, BLM) but just give us the option of having a mobile dps class.

Kinda agree about this. Why change the flavor of the class that much? Things will get tweaked.
