The rush to hunt amuses me because it's going to be those same people complaining how the game is to easy while they use their i170-180 gear to steamroll through everything.

Pretty much this. Once the crowd gets beyond a certain size it's actually impossible to get full credit due to how quickly the target dies. It is actually a big risk to wait too long.
It also doesn't help that some players get a late report in their linkshell and start bitching that the target was pulled early when other people had actually been standing there waiting for five minutes or more. Do not assume that the report in your linkshell was the first report of that hunt target being found!
That happened to some of my friends last night. They found an A rank and called other people in via TS and our FC linkshell and then stood around waiting for a while to see if other people were going to show up. Sure enough, the hunt train rolled in, and someone pulled it almost right away. On the outside, it looked like an early pull, but in fact my friends had been standing there waiting for a few minutes already. They could've gone ahead and pulled it themselves if they'd wanted.
If people did them with healers and tanks wont melt so fast but people like to do big damage all the time for some reason. Many times had seen healers in cleric stance dpsing and tanks on dps stance doing even more dps.
This is a design flaw. Gating upgrades behind one open-world mob is stupid.
Tell that to the masses zerging A-ranks in both the new and old zones and ignoring their daily marks. Seals need to be rewarded for something other than just hunts. Not really sure why you think A-ranks in the old zones are being ignored. You should see how often their linked - and the mere milliseconds it takes for them to die.
I rather this than the few FC's runnign around trying to find hunts and snipe them before anyone else can get there. They are actually going out of their way to make sure no one else but them get the hunts. Even going as far as to report players that follow them to the hunts they are trying to hide.
Just because some people are doing it that way doesn't mean it's the only way. The long and short of it is: if you don't like it, don't do it. It's slower to upgrade via dailies but it can be done since they actually give a reasonable amount - 100+ per day, then the weekly. I don't sit and hunt all day because I find the zerg pretty frustrating. If I trip over an A rank, I'll shout out to a hunt linkshell once I've made sure my raid static and friends are there. I'll go to hunts that happen to be in the area I'm in, or if I'm not doing anything in particular at the time. When hunts are in instanced areas, I try to teleport there once; if I get the wrong instance I shrug and go about my business and just wait for the next hunt mob to pop.
So far I'm i176 PLD doing it that way, so it seems to be working just fine.
