You're right, my bad.
Could be a double entendre though!

It's been so long I doubt they could even come close to reaching how great they once were (Chrono Trigger). Thank you for posting OP, the music alone was worth it.
Don't toy with my emotions! Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time, I hold it as the model all RPG's should aspire to with it's multiple endings, characters that level up even when not in the party, ability to skip random battles, great music, great characters including an optional one, all while having nice graphics (for it's time). I always thought Chrono Cross was an abomination and not a good sequel to Chrono Trigger, the series was dead in the water for me. But I've since bought every remake for CT on PS1 and the DS, if there is something Chrono Trigger involved that doesn't involve Cross? I would be absolutely ecstatic. But again, I won't get my hopes up.
could be ff7 remaster unless it is a port from last e3 then it SE is just trolling at this point lol
I just... Can't handle.. the hype !!
A decent CT sequel would be awesome. Bring back SNES's awesomeness, beautiful colors pretty please
June 16th, 5 pm UTC, just wait for meeeeeeee
I knew them sampling Lavo's theme for Tam-Tara (HM)'s and Amdapor Keep (HM) final bosses felt like a tease.
I'm like the biggest Trigger Fan, but I don't like the Cross haters.
It was an astounding spiritual successor to Trigger and both are my favorite games from Square, by a long shot.
(I still love you FFXIV)
They were both perfect.
That said, I know I'm an unobjective fan boy of the series and people have different opinions.
So meh.
I think the Chrono series is best off without direct sequels.
Chrono and Co.'s story was most done in Trigger. Cross kept the thread but it was a re-imagined game for the most part.
Much like the FF series.
If there is a sequel it'd doesn't need to be directly from Trigger or Cross, but can have some threads to both.
Yea, well I can understand expecting something different.
I certainly didn't expect Cross either. But I'm glad with what I got.
Trigger's story felt very complete.
So getting a new a fresh place was really refreshing.
I also enjoyed the Island based fantasy setting which was a markably different from usual JRPG fantasy settings.
(Probably because I'm from an archipelago myself)
That said, Cross still had a lot of similarities (skippable mobs, character special moves and combos) and a ton of references (Glenn, Masamune, Gil).
Beneath the surface of the setting, it was still the same world with the same ancient drama going on.
In fact, the whole premise of the game came from Trigger's setting, such as the entire Dragon God story arc being based on the Dinosaur story in Trigger.
Actually, most major plot points come from Trigger.
Regardless, it's true it felt different. But I can say that of any of the FF series between one another.
But Spirits Within? Well, I don't find that very good for what it was and the FF title just made it worse.
It wouldn't have been memorable to me even if it didn't play to my expectations.
But Chrono Cross beats any other game I played but Trigger.
I don't even bother to compare them, because the Chrono title already brought me my two favorite games.
Anyway, probably shouldn't make this in-depth Chrono thread discussion. I reached my post limit for today anyway.
When they said Action RPG, I immediately thought, "Woah, must be Kingdom Hearts 3!"
Possibly. :D
to me it's not that it was bad. i think the story was great (the cheating bosses lets not go there!) but it didn't keep the chrono trigger feel to me.
sorta like i personally like final fantasy spirits within the only problem with it was it had nothing to do with final fantasy (at least to me)
it was basically just a good syfy movie.
SE will win this E3
