To improve performance, there is an in-game option in system settings -> display to change your graphics to Standard HD instead of Full HD.
It will reduce your resolution to 720p instead of 1080p, giving a slight boost.

also switch graphics off for other players.I have a decent pc and only show my own effects due to screen clutter and well they can be anoying but it helps with lag
amazon.co.uk if you an eu/uk player (or amazon in general, other retailers are available haha) sell decent Samsung SSD's for about £150 thats for 500GB drive, I'm considering getting one soon after HW hits as i'm running outta space on my 220GB and I'm expecting that and MGSV to take up large chunk of space :/
Oh the load time on PS3 with an SSD is more then a few seconds shorter, I've found densely populated zones like cities and Rev Toll to load like 30secs/1min quicker to be honest, and boot times too - from PS3 dashboard to XIV Start Screen it went from 2mins to 30secs :p
Just get a PC.
I was looking around forever in the settings, and i just now found it. I didn't know we had that option
A decent PC that can run this game at max/high settings, while a good investment, is really expensive.
PS4 is like $400
PS3 to PS4 is night and day. Hell, it's moon and earth.
Either way, PS4 runs the game at pretty much max, but it during things like S-ranks, i dont think it makes any attempt to scale, and with all the effects on sometimes it lags worse than the PS3 does.
Simple fix though, just turn off full VFX, or just keep party VFX on during S-rank hunts. There's really nothing else that should significantly impact ps4.

I don't know that the PS4 will support any of these, but they should fit in the 2.5" Serial ATA that is called for per https://support.us.playstation.com/a...UDUzYm1pb20%3D
1 TB SSD ... That's got me tempted, actually.
