Chocobo Help Needed Please

The quick and easy way to remember it is to only feed an Onion when the Chocobo's EXP bar is 0/xxx,xxx EXP

There is an item I can give chocobo instead of grinding kills to level her? Does it require stable?

Krakka Roots (there are others, but krakka is the cheap one). They have a shared 1 hour cooldown, and I'm pretty sure using one when your choco is summoned does the same as using them in the stable. A stack of 99 will get you roughly a full level.
