No, they're not worthless, I should reiterate.

I just try to keep a full stock of shards and crystals (clusters... I wish) so sometimes when people trade me a few hundred shards, if it's not one I actively use I simply can't accept it without having to move some of it around to a retainer or fc chest.

Of course crystals never useless regardless the type, im allways welcome any kind of them, im run of them so often, and have to keep farming them. But really i would prefer any mid-cost/high materials to produce more gods. Gil is welcomed too but with the inflation/fluctuation of prices its not that usefull.

So in general you will feel by yourself what you like most rather than base on other views.
