Omigod i know. Its terrible.
You just know that 90% cant even play SMN well, let alone to its highest potential yet they constantly have 'opinions' on it.

It drives me loony as well. @__@ Especially when I do see the common false info spread about the egis. It aint SE's fault folk ignore all of Iffy's higher dmging abilities and stick with Garuda on Sic mode >_> lol Once 3.0 is released we will be able to see the various changes and updates made to the Egi and Summoner and go from there.
As for your suggestions, 1 is not needed but would be cute, ultimately just eye candy. 4 might be a tad bit too much to manage. Tanks and Melee dps all have reasonings for their stances. Adding this on top of managing your pet, tracking your stacks, keeping up Shadowflare, etc might be a bit too much. The Dreadwyrm Trance is something that could fulfill this desire to degree giving us access to new abilities while we are out of Aetherflow Stacks, possibly even leading to a Trance for another Elder Primal or just adding on more moves to the Dreadwyrm Stance in future updates.
It seems 2 and 3 line up with this quote here.
#2 seems to be asking for glamours based off of the caster/melee/tank stance
(i.e. Summon 1 = E.Carby/Garuda/Rahmu, Summon 2 = T.Carby/Titan/Levi, Summon III = R.Carby/Ifrit/Shiva)
but then #3 is asking for a glamor for each egi to be in every form
(A Garuda for Caster/Melee/Tank forms. An Ifirt for Caster/Melee/Tank form. A Carby for each form, etc)
Whether 2 or 3 is implemented both will require the pet effects being editing with the glamours. It sounds like a very silly over sight for them to have a Rahmu glamor'ed egi to cast wind spells. That being said the tool tips will also probably have to change as well. Either 2 or 3 would be effective fixes to some complaints, but many are simply wanting the job to be completely redone/like FF11 or having Summons that are different looking in one way or another. Ultimately you def wont be able to please em all.
I personally feel summoner doesn't need to be redone. It kind of reminds me of EQ magician with dots instead of DD/wave DD which was my favorite class in that game. I was excited about getting new pets but we will have to see what happens. I'm excited to see what the new abilities will do.
I'm more worried about a viable SMN. Looking at these new tools BLM is getting, I surely hope SMN is getting something as well, since you only need 1 caster and BLM will be even better at AoE than it is now.
Something? SMN is getting Deathflare, aka Akh Morn! A humongous aoe beam of death with an unknown amount of potency. And that's probably it's lvl 60 ability, because it consumes 3 stacks of Bahamut Aether (a new mechanic where stacks are generated when you use Aetherflow) and it's getting Painflare which also uses Bahamut Aether, but only 1 at a time. So it's getting some really cool stuff.
Also, BLM's new things aren't to boost its aoe game, but its single-target dps, as Yoshi said in the stream.
SE can make a traditional Summoner by removing the Egis and have them incarntae summon a primal for 30s do AoE bursts damage do its signature attack and leave.
BIGGER SUMMONS
MORE FLASHING THINGS
MORE DAMAGE
SMN MASTERRACE
I don't think removing the egi would be a good move I think most people who enjoy smn like having their pet and what makes the pet class which is what people wanted.. As far as I understand fire 4 isn't an aoe so that wouldn't remove flare for groups of mobs..
