I agree it is a a lot more hassle to decline spam friend requests than it should be. They changed the process a few months ago and made it take more work. Like Tells, Friend Requests are used more by spammers than real people.
As to the OP's idea of filtering, that will simply cause them to use different names. It won't fix anything.
What we need are things like an automatic timed expiration on friend requests, being able to decline with one step instead of having to manually scroll down the list to decline a second time (seriously, why did they do that?), or making a decline/blist function.

even gold sellers.
And -I- thought I was mildly inconvenienced at one friend spam/night. Ha.

I've got a list building up right now. There are bots openly camping at the limsa mb. Bots spamming shout chat and more running around ccb openly botting. Why would they stop? Not like square cares about them...
