Nidhogg or not Nidhogg

Eh from a super official SE source, no, but I have to wonder how all the fansites were given the media kits (i.e., the black dragon and white dragon concept art) and then suddenly started calling them Nidhogg and Hraesvelgr respectively.

I just find it curious that all these sites seem to pick the same name "Hraesvelgr;" I don't think it's coincidence and since it coincided with what appears to be a media release I see no reason to doubt it

I think the black one is Nidhogg, he has 1 eye glow and the scars.

So yeah pretty likely that fluffy isn't Nidhogg. Hraesvelgr is too specific to be random, so that's the likely name. Still he has a lot of exposure in promotional materials. Maybe we are looking at a new Scion.

Just for arguments sake I'd like to point out Midgarsomr is the first dragon ever so of course he's large and the Primal Bahamut is likely bigger than the original Bahamut (if there even WAS an original Bahamut) due to aether consumption over a long period.

Point I'm making is size =/= Wyrmking status or not

Agreed. And very likely the ranking system of Wyrmking and below likely involves age and/or power, which size can be (but is not always) indicative of, which is important to remember.

A fair point. And like it was mentioned we did see several fluffy like dragons at the end of the trailer. Still, I would expect dragon kings to be more intimidating than their children. How else would they keep their positions?

However the similarity of features between fluffy and blackie (nidhogg) seems to indicate to me that fluffy might be the offspring/lower hierarchy than nidhogg/from the bloodline of nidhogg.

Another known fact is that we will receive help from the dragons hence the dragon mount in e same way we got our magitek mount. So maybe one of nidhogg's trusted lieutenant decided to assist us at some point. Just speculating.

I dunno, if the black one we fight at the end of the benchmark is Nidhogg, doesn't it seem a little weird that SE would show off such a massive story moment, especially considering Nidhogg is that important, in something like the benchmark? Maybe Nidhogg makes his ranks go through some weird eye gouging ceremony, like a whole "Share my suffering to show your loyalty and anger towards the Ishgardians"?

Well as far as blood line goes, The White and Black dragon were both with Midguardsormir in the Celestial Dragons art work so they are both one of the seven. And it only makes sense that they'd share common features since they're both Middy's offspring ergo siblings.
