Considering it took a while before SE finally changed how WAR worked so that groups would let them tank content beyond HM Garuda, I'd expect it to take a while as well. And NIN's only positionals are Sneak Attack and Trick Attack, both on a 1-minute cooldown. The latter isn't a bit deal since you're already behind the mob to DPS, and the former I would consider too risky on most boss mobs due to clear catching a NIN means more work for the healers. 1-minute cooldown SA and TA are very different from the constant dancing back and forth DRG and MNK have to do.

That's a straw man to distract from the fact you guys aren't just gleaning. You're taking it way further and drawing finalized conclusions and making demands based on them. Any such assumptions about the actual gameplay are most likely to be false. That's the reality you seem to be failing to accept. Conjecture and discuss possibilities that's fine, but that is not what's happening on the forum in the last day. This goes far beyond conjecture with threads labeled "RIP Ninja" and the such.

Exactly this. They will absolutely let the abilities release as intended and see how the player base responds to the actual skills. They won't change anything based on the wild conjecture based on nothing more than the word positional spoken. Their battle team has been working on these abilities for months and people seem to think the uproar over the use of one word will suddenly change that balance. That's some serious mental gymnastics going on in some peoples minds. It's less than a month before release. Nothing, I mean absolutely nothing, will change based on these poorly informed doom and gloom threads. They know what they are doing far more than a small vocal distinctly uninformed minority.

And how do you know that the extra positionals wont be rear only also? Or are you jumping to a conclusion based on the fact they said "positionals".

Yep. And this is why the furthest I'm willing to go commenting on NIN is "I'm not thrilled with the prospect of positional requirements, but it remains to be seen how it'll play." And on BRD "I suspect WM will be a thing to toggle on and off (with a cast time, natch). Wonder what it will mean for BL and Barrage." Or on SCH, "Under what circumstances would I sac my fairy? Just how strong of a buff is this thing?"

Really, the only job we have near enough info on to even try to guess a rotation is BLM, because they spelled out so many abilities BLM will get. And even then I wouldn't sign my name to more than a guess.

In a game where you are essentially Captain Planet with better fashion sense, ppl ride giant yellow turkeys, and things like cloning, magic, and pan-sexual people who take draconian lovers can all co-exist; sometimes you have to let real world logic take a walk lol.
