Honestly, because if some people couldn't anonymously complain on the internet, they wouldn't know what else to do with themselves.
"Because internet" is pretty much the reason.
Am I excited for the new bard stuff? ...sure. It's different. If it truly ends up so game breaking that the whole userbase stops playing bard then Squeenix will know. I wanna give it a try before I truly hate it.
from what a mod has said they originally made a mistake in the description... the song will remain active if you move just the skills will cancel if move during casting. so its not a major thing bards have to worry about.. im excited to try it more dps for bard can only be a good thing :P
^ This. Also, "because internet" is true as well.
I said it in a SMN thread... that suddenly moved... but... People WILL complain about everything. "Talking about positive things in a game? What's that? I only see things to complain about!" is the mindset of most players, I swear.
No idea. The changes to my two main jobs (NIN and MNK) look good, so I'm happy.
Yep. Some people can't get over that its not how they would have designed Summoner, and somehow think SE is going to completely redesign (as opposed to reworking/tweaking) the job to their liking.
Its like the people in FFXI who, years into the game, still complained that RDM was not a melee mage. Like --- I get that you would prefer something else, but at this point obviously the basic concept is set. And some of us REALLY like it!
(Of course I was a main RDM in FFXI and someone who plays SMN in FFXIV a lot... I chose those jobs because I liked their playstyle and basic ideas, not because I thought if I played it enough Square would suddenly redefine the job...)
"Because internet" is why people voice complaints about changes they don't like so loudly.
"Because hype" is why people don't notice when changes might be a bad thing and don't feel the need to voice against anything.
Both sides are in the wrong to some degree. In either case, player feedback is important, even before the actual changes are made.
Personally I play everything and didn't hear anything I didn't like the sound of.
Even if I heard a few things that gave me some pause, I'm not willing to piss in all the cheerios without actually TRYING IT MYSELF first.
Pets can be molded to fit encounter situations (like whether you'll be dealing with lots of adds or if the fight only has one target to kill). I think what's gotten to some people is their mentioning of pet glamours, which I take as them saying "yeah, we're not gonna make Leviathan/Ramuh/Shiva-egi, we'll just let you change Ifrit/Titan/Garuda-egi to look like them". To me at least, that's not a good thing.
Some of the things asked for were absolute no-brainers. Like changing Contagion into a SMN ability instead of a Garuda-egi ability.
I can't resent your embracing that thing that is the lovechild of an Oracle and a Time Mage, but let's not downplay the melee camp.Quote:

Suffice to say, I didn't begin to feel like a Red Mage until Trusts came out. Been doing the free login thing, and having someone tank, someone heal, and someone DPS as I melee/WS/nuke a mob, throw off-heals at my leisure while wielding my firelit sword with NO complains and no requests for Refresh/Haste has been a dream come true. Too bad it took a decade and NPC AIs for it to happen.
Because internet and its daily complaint quotas.
