Please continue to sing as the tank engages; it really sucks when the BRD decides to begin singing when half of my opener is already finished. Early is best for both single-target and AoE situations.

Singing in time with the pull also saves you from having to stop DPS to use your song.

in regards to dps
you are the AOE burst and sustained DPS with v little ramp up time.

Our brd always signals the start of the fight with the words "Foes up", which signals me to start casting thunder III and tank running in :)

My experience maining a BLM in 2.3 was beyond enjoyable. I had been SCH since 2.0 and needed a change. I was waiting for NIN, so I went with the one job that I just had fun with. BTW, it is imperative that you make explosion sound effects while casting flare. I mean, kaboom! It's fun! Give the job a shot, friend.

If you want to annoy your Tank
use Fire 3 -> Flare -> Convert -> Swiftcast -> Flare

Then you'll be enjoying the monsters eating your face away as you will be the new Tank >=D!!

Hit a dummy for like 3 minutes to determine the average damage of one of you attacks.My fire 1 under astral 3 hits for 1.1k. With raging it hits for 1.3k. So if you know the average damage of you attacks just times it by .2. So in my in case 1100*.2=220 now 220+1100=1320
