Zeta Weapon Upgrades?!

Right, I get what you mean, thank you. At least, if anything, they can still be used to glamour, because they are gorgeous. It's just a lot of work to get just ONE, so hopefully all that work won't go to waste.

We don't know exactly what will happen to our relic in the expansion, however the devs have already stated there will NOT be a zodiac weapon for the three new classes. With that information alone we can near certainly say the new weapon quests, whatever they may be, will not be excluding the three new classes, therefore will not be using the current relic as a required base weapon. Nor do I believe they will give any significant advantage due to the fact that it would be quite dissuasive to attempt the new jobs.

i was preparing items for machinist relic in 3.0 til heards devs state that now they are just sitting in my inventory collecting dust lol

I'll be happy if you can transfer the stats of your zeta to the new relic. That alone will make alot of people happy that they didnt waste money on materia if they min/maxed their relic

As far as I know, what has currently been confirmed is:

1) Owners of relic weapons will be given "consideration" in the expansion, what exactly this constitutes has not been specified, so anything beyond that is idle speculation
2) New jobs will not have Zodiac weapons to grind out
3) Current BIS gear will still be "good" until about level 55
4) Current Zodiac grind will be made easier so people can farm them for glamour purposes
5) New relics will not be available from the start, they will come out in 3.1

That is it. Nothing more has been stated for certain, and there has been no official elaboration on what the "consideration" for existing relics is - what stage they need to be at, what you'll get out of it, etc. For all we know you might just get a legacy achievement and told to grind the new damn relic from scratch like everyone else.

Or perhaps no advantage at all (as absolutely none was ever promised thus far). The reward could, for example, simply be a title.

I get the feeling when we finally get our answer there are going to be a lot of annoyed people who were allowing themselves to expect more instead of less.

Could be a title like "Zeta Legend".
Where people after Heavensward if they decide to make a Zeta for the glamour will only be able to get the "Z" title.

My personal guess is that people with Zeta will get a headstart in the 3.1 Relic questline.
What kind of headstart it could involve I don't know since I don't know what it will feature.

People with a Zeta will be able to enter the trial of the Zodiark primal which drops neat loot and a Zeta upgrade item (Super-Mahatma of the Serpent) at 100% rate.

One can dream, right?
