With redesign and grinding motivation: Server merge?

No. Simply, no. It makes absolutely zero sense to merge servers together right now, in the stage the game is in. You say the game is empty? Of course it is, the game launched far too early and in a completely unfinished state. The PS3 version is still on the horizon, the game is nearing the point where they'll move to P2P again, and we will have more players. I'm seeing more and more new faces in the game every single day.

Stop this, please.

EDIT: Also, I agree with RemVye and all the people she agreed with.

I had completely forgotten there was a server called Palamecia. Are you sure that is not a beta server?

I think my server, Selbina, is fine population wise.

Kashuan is pretty good. you can pretend your playing a single player game, or go to the city and it becomes a multiplayer game

Crap content (solo quest grind, pointless dynamic/public "events") are worse than grinding. It's unfortunate that most modern MMO's don't have a decent grind system and so they force you to drudge through their less enjoyable "content" as you try and make your way to something actually fun.

The server I'm on feels like it has a good population, but surely doesn't feel overcrowded. A merge wouldn't be needed on mine but I am sure there are servers that could really use the population boost. When did everyone get the PS3 version release date? Those dang psychics keep popping up everywhere!.. Even IF the PS3 version were released next month, it doesn't justify leaving dying servers to die (unless they want to offer server transfers).

Currently, the sooner the PS3 version releases = the less likely we are to see this massive population surge you all seem to be expecting. If they give it a few months, until after or around 1.21, then maybe you'll see this FLOOODD of new ppl.. where that argument might have had some relevance. Continuing to leave the low pop. servers as they are month after month after month isn't necessary.

What does that even mean?
Large scale PvE and PvP both need higher population density. It wouldn't work on low pop. servers, and a merge to those servers increases the population, basically.

I think it would take a pretty ridiculous amount of users to make a server feel overcrowded, when nms are 5 minute respawn, most content is instanced, and there are seemingly unlimited grinding camps. I'm not saying merge them all together right now. All I'm saying is, if we're going to encourage grinding, give us enough people per server that we're not waiting 5 hours for another couple people the same level to seek.

And yes.... Palamecia feels like a beta serve sometimes.

They aren't going to merge the servers anyhow because they are holding out for numerical increases with the PS3 launch. (It's been said, I know.)

They also decided to leave us PC-folk hanging in the process. :)
