Happens rite as the AoE circle comes out, just be rdy for it.
I've had it not show up on my character when others said they've seen it. I've also learned that it tends to blend in with the barrier blocking the entrance and exit, as it uses almost the exact same colors.
I've learned to turn my camera so that my character appears on the side, but I've still been caught off guard where it flashed for merely half a second before I got zapped.
It's bugged.
I've had this happen before, but I was also playing dragoon so assumed it telegraphed during a jump.
The marker pops up and completely disappears waaay before the boss starts casting the attack. It's pretty quick to appear and disappear too! Then again, this could be a graphical glitch. From what everyone has said, the glitch may either be, 1) a display bug in which you can attempt to restart the game client to try to fix it, or 2) facing the camera at certain angles will cause the mark to not appear (kind of like flat surfaces at a straight angle). Not sure if this is affecting everyone - I can see it just fine and some others have stated the same as well.
Honestly the first few times I ran it I never saw the mark, because I'm the least observant. One of my friends pointed out that there even was a marker, and I was like "...........oh". So you may just not be seeing it. I sometimes don't still.
It doesn't always show up for me either, and I'm always paying attention to everything going on around me. It also happened with markers during t5 at some points a long time ago, and other people reported that on forums and elsewhere too.
I miss the marker a lot myself, and I swear sometimes it just doesn't appear.
I think it's a bug.
I can somewhat confirm that it's popped up many times without the marker showing first.
I was assuming it was a problem on my end with custom video settings and I never bothered to ask anyone about it.
Should definitely report this because that move can be pretty fatal.
I would like to say it might be bugged as I can think of quite a few times where he just starts to zap me with lightning and I swear I never saw a marker! I used to just assume I missed it sometimes..
