It might take a little while, but you just need to keep running in and out of the circle to spawn the enemies you need to kill. You're most likely getting the error because so many people are doing the new quests.
Also lagging here.

I tried the VM website but it won't load at all so I Tweeted them, judging by their Twitter feed it seems that pretty much the whole country is having issues. VM are aware and are investigating.
Many people on Twitter are reporting connections coming back on and games having no lag now. Hopefully it's all sorted.
Sorted? No, no, no. It's just getting late so the congestion is dying down (imo). It's the same problem as we had last patch, and I'll bet we'll have it all over again when Heavensward goes live.
There's also a thread in Technical Support btw with links to VM forums:

Clicky, clicky!
edit: If one of the posters on the VM forums is correct, it looks like a routing/Cogent problem. :/
I am a very sad Lalafell.
Nopes. After not doing much apart from main story quests & the related trial which I didn't complete (I lagged so hard I DC'd. We wiped, so I left. It wasn't fair on the rest of the party) earlier in the evening, I joined a hunt in the hopes that the lag had cleared up enough (Western Than A Rank). I'm just glad I wasn't melee. Huge spikes still.
edit: and it wasn't even that big a hunt group.
No. I did a chocobo Race while it didn't seem as bad as earlier it did still lag a lot, I guess like someone said congestion is probably less, however i did get 90002 error while idling. Thats twice today, I rarely get DC errors.
Same thing happening for me earlier, I stopped playing because of all the lag and crashes.
