The restrictions seem more and more pointless with each update.
It made sense at one point, but now they seem to be at odds with it. What's the point of preventing mages from wearing armor if tanks can run around virtually naked?

As a player with more than two retainers worth of mostly-obsolete rare drops saved strictly for outfit coordination, I have to support this.
They could even limit it to unique-untradeable items and green-or-better tradeable items that have been bound to you, to keep regular crafted items in demand. And prisms could and should still be used to apply glamours to gear.
The alternative is to just keep giving us more retainers, which would probably become a bigger issue down the line.
I'm in support of anything that will help ease up on inventory space where glamors are concerned. I tend to be a packrat with any glamor piece i think i might not come across again very easily in the future, and as for crafting, I've gotten into the habit of only keeping what I need at that moment and selling off what I don't use, and I just put in a little extra effort to re-farm the mats when I need them again.
As an aside, Rift is soon about to implement a system similar to what GW2 has as well. I don't presume to know how coding or server management works, but if a buy to play and a free to play game can do it, why can't a game with a sub -and- a cash shop running?
Lord of the Rings Online has a better vanity system than this game, and it's been around for years and years. Seriously, I've been saying it since they previewed it - it is far too complicated and quite frankly sucks.
I disagree entirely. We need to get rid of glamour prisms. They're stupid. I should be able to have my base armor on and have wardrobe slots I can toggle. I shouldn't have to have more than one copy of any specific armor if I want to have it glamoured to look like multiple things. Crafters would make money by being able to craft specific vanity gear, such as non-combat clothing (casual, formal, holiday, wedding, specialty, whatever) and other outfits.
