Exactly. In the under lvl 50 dungeons, use Fire II on mobs/adds that have very low HP. There are only a few spots like that, and you'll know them when you come across them.

Thanks everyone, have to say I'm MUCH better at it now, can get sleep or Blizzard II cast pretty quickly and it's a huge help. Even Blizzard II and then sprint away to get a break. I have a keyboard and mouse connected for when I need it but I've tried 5 keyboards, some bluetooth some wireless USB and they all have serious lag unless I type really slow. I type around 145 wpm and on PS4 with any keyboard in FF only (if I go to friends list on the PS4 and send a message it's perfectly fine), they will turn out like "Hhhey anyone wantto do a duungeon?" So didn't think it would be ideal to control it that way.
Have you tried a wired USB keyboard?
I can't believe no one has suggested Quelling Strikes yet xD if you are finding yourself pulling agro a lot then I highly suggest you get it.
Also sounds like the keyboard issue. I use a wireless keyboard and have no issues. I still use controller to play. The only downside is when you have 10+ targets and you need to focus on one but other than that no issues.
Yeah I've tried a few keyboards wired and not, seems to be a known issue as if you google PS4 ffxiv keyboard lag there's tons of posts on them. If I go to the PS4 home screen and send a friend a message, there's no problem at all, so it's something with the game. Not a huge deal but I'll try another some other time maybe. I bought a Logitech G600 gaming mouse which I've seen works on PS4 for this (bought it more for my PC and work but will serve dual purpose), as I think having that sitting beside me to just quickly grab it and click who I want to target sometimes will be way easier. I do have Quelling Strikes also and definitely use that often as soon as I start to pull!
Can't say I've ever experienced any lag issues with my keyboard in this game, and I too type pretty quickly.
Sucks you have that issue though I could see how it'd be irritating/problematic.
Mine is wired though not sure if that makes a difference.
I refuse to use wireless keyboard or a mouse.
I'll try it again with a wired one later, it's just weird because as mentioned if I use the keyboard in any other game I can type no problem, it's only ff14 that has the lag and issues, so makes it hard to troubleshoot when it seems there's nothing wrong with the keyboard but more the game.
No advice on blm things, but I can confirm keyboard lag issues with a USB keyboard on ps4. The issue that annoys me the most is doubling i's.. Like.. "I ifeel like a crazed apple fan whenever I itry to type." I also have repeated letters, skipped characters, and random movement after hitting enter/when trying to type.. And I have the option to only use keyboard to chat selected..
It's kind've a bit late if the tank has already died, but don't forget you can help (a little) to prevent that happening in the first place, with Eye for an Eye (good pre cast before tank runs in and draws a crowd) and Apocostatsis (very situational) and as someone above said virus (again a bit late if the tank dies and your using virus to stay alive yourself, better to try and use before hand to ease the incoming damage on the tank to begin with). if the tank does drop i'll use ward/wall, then try and burn down the add. DON'T bother trying to heal yourself thru it, will almost never work, much better chance of killing the add before it kills you. Apologies if any of these abilities aren't actually available at your level, I can't remember what level any of them unlock at
