Summons as a 2hour ability for all classes.

Unless of course they're class-specific abilities which they more than likely would be. Also I'm still very skeptical on the idea of summoning at all in FFXIV, especially as a pet class. The Primals certainly won't cooperate with us if Ifrit is any indication and you know there would be a riot if the summons weren't only the traditional FF summons.

Also didn't they say a while back (more than a few months) that they were considering doing something LIKE 2-hour abilities but not 2-hour cooldowns?

yes i like summoning but lets say they have to but aions or any thing else
and every class can just get some of them that are similar to the class ..

ifret is good for CON while bahumot is good for GLD

I say we need summoner job, none of this primal 2hr/time nonsense....
The beauty of it is how the job system will not give us cure :) not more cure3 spam for smn.

If a 2 hour type ability were added it might be cool if you could only use it once or twice while under guardians favor.

since they reworking br's completley i'd like to see them use summoners as part of the dmg combo's. doing right combo's will pop out a summoner to inflict a some dmg and disapear. maybe chains of diff smn moves as u land them can make summoner pop for more powerful moves, and diff summoners for diff chains as well.

also can see this beeing a big quest line for everyone to collect each smn to be able to link in chains or something as well.

as for op's idea i like this one too, better then smn class. sry i thought smn class in ffxi was a mistake. smn's are one of the best thing in offline games. everyone should be able to summon them in some form rather then chosing 1 class to do them all. just my opinion. though i do want to see pet classes, and with my idea above maybe can create a class that can solo control all br's and make them pop, sorta like samari meets summoner class. sounds pretty cool right? lol. :)

If they did Summoner I think it would work more in an Evoker way. The issue they have mentioned is that the avatars play such a role that it wouldn't really make much sense for players to actually control them. If you've gone far enough in the story you may be aware of the clear difference as to how Ifrit is in XIV compared to XI.

With that said if Evoker's were implemented I imagine them working in the same manner as the abilities kobold's have atm

Titan's Anger, Titan's Boon and Titan's Soul. Basically Evoker would be able to tap into the essence of an avatar to perform abilities rather then calling the entire avatar itself and controlling it.

Perhaps later on past the 50 cap history will change in which players can create pacts with avatars but for now I imagine that if we were to get any form of a summoner class it would work more in relation to FF III.

As good of an idea as that is, you know people aren't going to be happy until everyone is running around with Ifrit on a leash.
