Going to have to disagree. I'm on the dungeon portion of my zodiac weapon and I've been queuing all weekend. It's been a breeze.
This is just an excuse to try and get these items in an easier way.

Haha... Hunts are the fastest way to cap Sol by FAR. Robbing from Peter to pay Paul with that suggestion.
I literally max 2000 soldiery every 5 days from 'casual playing' of my roulettes and some ST runs. This is a bad idea. The solution is for the hunt system to be better designed. It wasn't designed to support zerg rushes, this isn't starcraft and those hunts are not protoss soldiers.
The zerg rushes break the system yet the system puts in 'good loot rewards' thus encourages swarms of people bum rushing them every time they spawn as well as the competitive 3rd party stuff and blah blah. FFXIV has a lot of great content with well thought out design, however Yoshi was out drinking beer with ZUN from Touhou and thought up this hunt system after his 17th round.
The following photo is a mock-up of what Yoshi was doing while thinking up the hunt system:

I wouldn't mind it being in there for soldiery or poetics. The system is so convoluted right now, and confusing esp for new players. First you gotta do hunts, then you have to trade notes for a log, then you have to trade log for carbon item, then you have to trade carbon item for upgraded item. That's really too many steps, and each npc is in a different area, so crazy imho. I think they need to get rid of logs completely at the very least, and stick the carbon item in the GC hunt vendor. And for the rare drop on S, just reduce the RNG chance of getting a carbon item directly. Also adding these items into soldiery wouldnt be too bad of a idea. Just do it like the zodiac. Make it where you can only buy them once you reach a certain progression point. First job gearing up slower, then secondary is faster. I kind of like that system.
Or how about giving you a free Carbontwine every time you log in?
