OP, you can't send post to people who are not on your friends list. You've added a gold spammer to your friends list.
Thankfully I haven't gotten a friend request in a few months (probably just jinxed myself). Has anyone noticed how freaky their messages are now? In addition to the crap they spew, they always add some crap like "We deserve to live" or "We deserve existence" at the end of the message. It freaks me out. The robots are gaining sentience.
The only way I have eliminated them from my logs is to deactivate the Tell from my logs. If anyone wants to talk to me, they are either on my Linkshells or they are in my FC.
I have an idea... Do what EVE Online does. Allow players to set a monetary sum that must be paid before a tell can be sent to them from anyone not in their known circles. IE Linkshells/FC/friends list. It takes from the whole "My time is money" saying... Trust me when i tell you that if you take enough of their gil away just to advertise, then it would be in their best interest to find way outside of the game to do so
I don't know if that would be very effective, considering that even with blacklisting on top of this, gil sellers will still send the ocassional shout. Not to mention it would screw over people who want to send a tell to someone for legitimate reasons. I sure as hell wouldn't bother talking to someone if I'd have to start paying them.
Lol. "The robots are gaining sentience." I love it. The tells I've been getting lately usually start with, "Sorry to bother you…" Either that or I can think of one I got today that had somewhere in the message something like, "We want to be the best, we offer the best service, we are here to keep you happy…" or some crazy crap like that. It really is starting to get weird. So weird I actually have started reading their messages hoping for some more crazy one liners. Maybe that's the point?
"existence is reasonable, let's make things better" is my favorite one
