Lack of "black" hairstyles

Some coarse hair styles could be a nice addition.

While we're at it some practical hairstyles would be nice as well imo. Short hair mostly, Short bobs, Pixie cuts, buzzed, shaved that sort of thing.

Yes, i have raised this question myself. Its not a matter of if the developers have actually met any "black" people personally. With internet and tv, they have definietly seen their share of black people. So thats not an excuse. especially since I can make my character different shades of "color" to represent my ethnic group, i think they can add a few more hairstyles. Now im not saying that they have to make it so you can create the stereotypical "thug" look, but alot of these hairstyles arent seen on certain people of color. I would really like a nice size afro. Now that would be sick. Maybe some Afro puffs for female characters.

I'm tired of having to rock a bald head in ffxiv myself lol.

Having watched a LOT of Japanese TV while I was living there, I can say with certainty that unless you're actively looking for them, it's outlandishly hard to find any black people in Japanese media with hairstyles unique to them.
Remember that search I mentioned earlier? I neglected to mention I did find a couple more "black" hairstyles...
...but they had the caption, translated and paraphrased, "OMG why is his hair like that?!"
So yes, they do see them...but it's not in the realm of "normal" for Japanese people, unlike Europe and the U.S. where you can't open a magazine without seeing these hairstyles.
It's hard to expect cultural awareness from a homogeneous culture. They made us take a class on that topic. Twice.
If enough people ask for them, they'll add them. Again, they have mentioned wanting to add afros. But to expect them to add other hairstyles without prompting is asking for a lot more than you realize.
